Industrial Plastics & Composites

Example of plastics machining - plastic fabrication

Mica-Tron Products Corp. machines all grades of Industrial, Engineering, Advanced Engineering, and Composite plastics. Since 1959, we have machined a broad spectrum of materials that range from: inexpensive, low density polyethylene (LDPE), to the extremely costly, imidized polybenzimidazole (PBI) Celezole®

Our expertise, experience, and equipment have allowed us the opportunity to machine components that have been used in industries that include:

Machined plastics - plastics machining, plastic milling, PTFE machining

Our equipment is “state of the art”, and is meticulously maintained, resulting in longer equipment life, better accuracy and, most importantly, better parts. Our capabilities include proprietary processing techniques which we developed throughout five decades of machining abrasive, glass-mica machinable ceramics.

Our facility is designed for the express purpose of machining non-metallics.

The facility design includes:

  • Central dust collection.
Dust-laden air is first filtered and then returned to the facility through large HEPA filters, which helps us keep our heating and cooling costs lower.
  • Controlled climate.
HVAC units maintain uniform temperature and humidity, resulting in better machining tolerance capability.
  • Epoxy coated floors.
These floors allow quick and easy cleaning of chips and fluids, thereby minimizing material contamination.
Strategically placed equipment. Proper placement minimizes the movement of product through the shop during processing.

  • Filtered compressed air, which helps remove oil and moisture from “blow off” air lines. (Without filtered compressed air, materials being machined could easily be contaminated, which could then significantly alter critical electrical properties.)
  • Daylight color temperature lighting.
This aids in careful inspection of parts during processing.

Mica-Tron Products Corp. is ITAR registered and our Quality System is certified by Intertek to meet the requirements of ISO 9001:2008 and AS9100-C.

Since 1959, our ability to machine plastics is unsurpassed, and we continue to routinely machine components that other fabricators refuse to handle.

We welcome the opportunity to machine all your plastic components!
